A 1974, 850 Commando with Supercharger, belonging to and built by Mike Sacchetti, of Rockland, MA USA.
"This was my first supercharger installation and the kit I purchased had been tossed around for some twenty years. The directions were laughable and left very much to the imagination. This was ok however because it was to be my winter project and as such took a good bit of my winter and passed the cold days away."
"I added two oil coolers to the bike to keep it from melting. I am using  champion N5C plugs and they are burning very nicely. I may try to go one step cooler just to be safe. I also added a custom ordered pop off safety valve set for 8 lbs to make sure I didn't blow the lower end."

"I had to special order a piece of phenolic material to place between the plenum and manifold to stop heat transfer. I have installed a boost gauge, oil pressure gauge and oil temp gauge to monitor how the new power source is doing. The engine runs like a normally aspirated engine creating vacuum like a carb setup (very manageable in lower RPMs) unless you give it a twist of the wrist and then it reacts like a turbo without any lag."
"Throttle response is instantaneous and this bike or any British bike I ever rode with Amals or Mikuni carbs can't even come close to how nice this bike runs."
"I did have to modify the throttle so I had a twin cable throttle to make sure the throttle would close when I wanted to slow down. It is time now to start looking into a better front brake setup.
"I will retain the front drum because I like the look of it over the disc (personal preference) but it shudders under heavy use and I want to correct that."
I also added a Corbin Gunfighter seat to keep my backside from sliding off the rear of the bike which was a real problem on the fist few test drives but even while holding on for dear life all that was running through my head was YEEEHAAAAAAAWWWW!!!!!
"The handling is the same with a strange gyro type effect and strange vibration surge when flicking left but once you know it is there you just flick through and ignore the funny sensation and the bike will follow the line you chose just as well as it did before the supercharger."
"I think I will start doing more mods like this if I can find enough left over kits."
