What tires do you recommend for my '73 Roadster?

I have a pair of Avon Super Venom AM18 110/90V19 on my Interstate. Work just fine for me, although purists will argue that they're not original. BFD - they handle great!

Well, I've had several flats on the road and I've
always managed to patch them successfully but I bought my first set of
Avons and decided that you can never practice enough and so I mounted them
myself.
These being new tires, I managed to catch the
rimlock on the rear UNDER the bead of the tire on one side. Even while
balancing the bugger I didn't notice that the tire was not concentric on
the rim. Until, that is, I went pogoing down the street.
I removed the tire and waited for a few days while
my new speedo drive made the UPS trip from Fair Spares in San Jose. When
I went to reposition the tire I couldn't seem to get the tire to move around
enough to centralize and, since I had an easy solution, I took it to a
friend's shop where I knew we could use a tire mounting device.
We didn't need it. He had this super slippery
tire mounting soap which we applied to both beads and when we pumped the
tire up it was centered on the rim. So much for talcum powder.
How do I like the tires? Either I had the smoothest
70mph ride I've ever had on a Norton or my Made in Taiwan speedo drive
is reading 10mph high. I suspect the latter but will have to calibrate
it to know exactly what's going on. In the meantime I do like the Plexifairing
3 I just installed (cut off the lowers), but the noise level was up and
I'm going to have to balance that against the protection from the wind,
bugs, rain, etc. I'll ride it to Alice's tomorrow and that will tell.
